Why is called the forbidden city and what is the merididan gate

            you may ask why is it called the (forbidden city ).well its because this imense complex was only for members of the imperial family and their servants no one else could go in hence the name forbidden. Now lets talk about the meridian gate. The merididan Gate is a 32 foot high wall to keep out anyone who isnt in the imperila family. Inside the maridden gates there is a 20 foot deep moat sorounding the city

    So since it says member of the imperial family does that mean like the grandchilderen and childrene or just adults of the family?

    That so makes sense! Im sure a royal family would just love to have their own space without anyone below their class bothering them.
